About Holmes Junior High

Welcome to Holmes Junior High! Holmes Junior High opened in 1965. Students from Aldrich Elementary, Hansen Elementary, Lincoln Elementary and North Cedar Elementary attend Holmes. Holmes enrollment is 584 7th-9th grade students. We offer a rich comprehensive educational program in a seven period day format. The standard core classes are offered along with electives including but not limited to world language, orchestra and leadership.

Extracurricular activities are an important part of our total school program. Students are encouraged to participate in one or more activities during the school year. Students can participate in a wide range of athletics activities; football, volleyball, basketball, swimming/diving, cross-country, golf, bowling, track and field, baseball, softball, cheerleading, dance team and wrestling. Additionally, there are multiple clubs in which students can choose to participate.

At Holmes, we are committed to academic excellence. We have high expectations for ALL of our students and we believe that ALL students CAN and WILL learn at high levels. To demonstrate this commitment, we provide students with an intervention and enrichment block called our Tiger Time. This allows opportunities for students to have access to re-teaching, enrichment, and extension to ensure ALL students are reaching their highest potential. Our goal is to ensure that ALL students have the supports and opportunities necessary to excel.
