The school counselor teaches classroom lessons with each grade level throughout the school year. The classroom teachers and the counselor work together to implement the comprehensive counseling curriculum. The counseling curriculum is based on the District Elementary Counseling Standards and the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) Standards and Mindsets which focus on personal/social, academic and career development. These lessons are also connected to the 21st Century Skills from the Iowa Core Curriculum.
