Welcome Back Leaders!

Welcome Back Students and Families!  

What a great start to the 2016-2017 school year.  As always we look forward to talking with you at input conferences about your child.  You are their first teacher.   We want to work as a team with you to ensure that your child shows tremendous academic growth this year!  We also want Orchard Hill to feel warm, inviting and like a family.   We believe all students are leaders.  We will help them find their strengths, learn how to set goals, and instill a growthmindset.    The staff is committed to cotinuing the workshop model in both reading and writing.  There will be more celebrations to attend this year so you can see first hand the growth your child is making.   

Mark your calendars for Sept. 13th from 6-7pm.  This will be a K-6 family night.  We hope you and your family can attend. 

We will continue our building wide goal of reading at home.  This year we are shooting for 1, 000,000 minutes and beyond!  Thank you for encouraging reading at home.   Implementing the workshop model this past year along with our reading at home goal increased our proficiency scores from 78% to 85%.  That in statistical terms is BIG growth.

 Reach out to your child's teacher, our school counselor, our special area teaching staff or to me if you want to know how to support your child's education.  There are so many ways to be involved.
