BOOST - Incoming 7th grade orientation

Peet Boost will be offered the week of August 5 - 9 (9:00 -12:00). Boost is a great way for new students to Peet Junior High to explore the building, meet new classmates and teachers, and get set up with Chrome books and school accounts prior to the beginning of school. 

Registration is required for all students participating in the Boost program.

Students Last Name A-L will attend on Monday and Tuesday.

Students Last Name M-Z will attend Wednesday and Thursday.

Topics covered will include:

  • Understanding your schedule

  • Learning to open and organize your locker

  • How to navigate lunch at the junior high

  • Chromebook set-up and digital organization

  • How to get involved in junior high

  • And many other important transition topics

Students enrolled in the Boost Program are eligible for FREE transportation to and from Peet Junior High School. A bus will pick up and drop off students at the following locations and at the following times. Plan to arrive 5 minutes prior to the times listed below.

  • Aldrich pick up 8:30 and drop off 12:20

  • Southdale pick up 8:40 and drop off 12:10

  • Cedar Heights pick up 8:30 and drop off 12:20

  • Orchard Hill pick up 8:40 and drop off 12:10

REGISTRATION FOR 24-25 SCHOOL YEAR

The district will be utilizing online registration again for the 24-25 school year. Parents/guardians have received emails regarding online registration. Returning students may access online registration through your PowerSchool Parent Portal, new students to the district will still need to register with our district Registrar at the Administration Building.

After completing the online registration form, please do not forget to pay your school fees through the PowerSchool Parent Portal by clicking on the "Balance" tab on the left side of your navigation menu. Fees, fines and lunch money are paid through RevTrac.

To view and pay fees online, log into your Parent PowerSchool Account and click on “BALANCE”. Follow these easy steps to complete payments online: Guide for Paying Fees Online

REGISTRATION HELP DAY

Peet will host a Parent Help Day on Thursday, August 8 from 12:00-4:00pm in the Peet front office. This will be the only time you will be able to receive assistance with online registration at Peet Junior High's building. *Appointments can be made for those unable to attend between 12-4:00pm.

Online registration help will be available July and August from 7:30am-4:00pm at the Cedar Falls Administration Building - 1002 W 1st Street Cedar Falls, IA, for those needing assistance.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT

Parents & Students, you are cordially invited to attend Peet Junior High’s “Back-to-School Night”, Wednesday, August 21 from 4:30 – 6:00pm. This will be an open-house style event (drop-in) .Students will be able to pick up their schedules, ID cards, and Chromebooks. Locker information will be printed on student schedules, and students will have an opportunity to organize their lockers. Teachers will be available in their rooms for students and parents, and will share information about course content and class expectations. You will be free to ask questions you might have. There will be PowerSchool Parent Portal help in the Media Center throughout the evening.

Peet PATT (Parents and Teachers Together) will also be at Back-to-School Night with sign-up forms and collecting the $10.00 (optional) membership donation. Click HERE to sign-up to volunteer for the 2024-25 school year and click HERE to donate online to the Peet PATT group.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

The first day of school is Friday, August 23. All 7th and new 8th and 9th graders will report to school at 7:45am with a start time of 8:00am for a transition morning. All returning 8th and 9th grade students will report to school at 9:20am with a start of school day at 9:30am.

If you ever need to report student attendance changes, please contact the Peet Attendance Office at (319)553-2771 or email: sydney.lee@cfschools.org. Please report daily attendance by 9:00am.

A dental screening must be completed for 9th grade students and turned into the Peet Health office within the first 60 days of school.

PEET ATHLETICS

All 7-12 grade athletes will be required to sign-up for their activities using the Bound program.  Register your student-athlete online then click on registration.

Students grades 7-8 will register on the Peet Bound page. Students 9-12 will register on Cedar Falls High School Bound page. 

Bound is a web platform used by all high schools and most junior high schools in Iowa to house team schedules, state required stats, event locations, event tickets (and passes), and much more. Cedar Falls will be using many more Bound features starting this school year.

5. Join the CF Tiger Booster Club and purchase membership or sponsorships online.

Student athletes must register for the sport they plan to participate in and upload via Bound a current Sports Physical. Students and parents must also complete the Code of Conduct and Concussion Form via Bound. Sports physicals are good for 13 months.

STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP TIMES:

7:50am-8:00am (Tuesday-Friday) 

9:05am (Monday) - for students who plan to eat breakfast
9:20am-9:30am (Monday)

Student Pick-Up:
3:00pm-3:15pm (Monday-Friday)

TRANSPORTATION

You will need to fill out this FORM if you are requesting busing. Transportation is free for high school students (10-12) that live more than three (2) miles from their resident school. These distances are determined by the Cedar Falls Transportation Department.

You MUST submit a transportation request for each student that needs busing.

Parent/Guardian of open enrolled students are responsible for their student(s) transportation.
